Okay, I've been reading about the forums for a day or two, looking for a solution to one of my games called Winback (PS2NTSCCD) which won't run on my PS2 anymore since I believe that the CD Laser Lens is busted, and I'm looking into how to convert my CD into a DVD and be able to run it with Swap Magic.
I've been able to convert it using DVD Scanlite, and I've burnt it with Nero as it said to do on this forum, but since that failed I am now pursuing CDVDGen to make it a DVD, and I was wondering if I needed to convert it to DVD using Scanlite first or not, all of my backups so far make the game boot to a black screen directly after I Swap Magic it.
Apart from the question in the subject, is Winback known for being fussy or something like that?
...I've already tried that, I have a DVD-ified version of the CD game and it tries to boot but just locks up at a black screen.
I've gotten into DVD Loader (since the only CD that works on my PS2 is Swap Magic CD) and been trying stuff, I have a Version 2 (I think) PS2 and have a CD Loader (s&g), DVD Loader, Swap magic 3.6, Winback CD, Winback DVD-ified, should I try this Universal CD Patcher which I got?
I'm going to continue trying... >_> Tomorrow is my Birthday (no shit) and I am interested in playing this game with my family.
Cogswap? Doesn't that require burning an image with some ID or something from a CD-based game and then swapping for a CD-based game afterwards?
Chances are my CD Laser lens is on the brink of death, though it runs Swap Magic CD in a snap. ;)
I'll try Cogswaploader or whatever after I possibly make another coaster. ^_^ I'll have a whole set at this rate.
EDIT: As a last minute notice, should I slap on a jumbo Dummy file? I have a Dummy.bin file that is about 1.4gb on it already, and it still loads to a black screen (else I wouldn't be on this forum, lol).
EDIT2: (Still funking around, looking for a fix) I found this: http://psx-scene.com/forums/432700-post91.html which appears to be similar to what I found with Winback, now how to "Win back" my pride and get the game to work isn't documented, only Harvest Moon has been documented, meaning I may have to do some long-assed researching and it is already 8pm (!!!). xD
