Bad connection problem

I just got an iMac about a month ago and everything is running fast and its working really good. The question I have is about playing wow on my computer. I just felt like playing wow again because of the big screen and fast speed, but when I start playing i get disconnected almost instantly. It loads really fast but once I get in the connection is horrible. Normally my connections fast but in wow its bad. I'm have an Optimum online box, a Linksys router and i use AirPort. Anyone have suggestions on what to do or if there is a better router i can get. And can I just direct connect my linksys to my computer, because i tried that, turned my AirPort off and didn't have connection at all. Thanx, I need Some suggestions!!!
