Compared to HDLoader, how many games are compatible with USBAdvance or USBeXtreme? I'd like to know because I currently have a v7 PS2 with HDLoader installed, and I'm considering selling it to my brother and getting the newest model PS2.
However, if the game compatibility isn't too good, then I guess I won't get it.
By the way, how is loading off a USB hard drive compared to loading off of HDLoader?
The game compatibility for USB is far less than using hddloader.
I used to use both at one time, and now just use my slim to play regular and backups, and kept my V7 for the hdd.
A lot of games for USB compatibility, you need to swap out the DNAS or IOPRPP image to get them too work.
There is a good compatibity list here
http://scenespain.net/foro/index.php?topic=214.0 You can just enter that url in a web translator if needed.
There is also a new tool for USB, so maybe compatibility is getting better. A guide is included

The newest PS2 you would probably have to get a modchip installed to use the usb drive, as fmcb 1.8 will only work on the ones with a Date Code of 8b on the SCPH-9000x
I am not sure if Swap Magic works on all of them either or only the ones with that date code 8b.
I do know Swap Magic works on the that model by only blocking the Sensor A by the reset button as members have posted.
Erm...this sounds like too much trouble to still end up with less games compatible...I guess I'll just stick with my v7 then, unless I can come across a working v9 for cheap sometime.
