I think the letters (when playing xbox 360) on my new LCD look blurrier than they do on my other TV with the same xbox and hookup. same component hookup for both. All settings are the same on both. Both TVs are LG 1080p. and the blurrier one is the one year newer TV. ANy ideas how to check if my new TV is not displaying clear enough? the newer tv is 42" instead of 47" but I don't think that should matter

You could try a lcd tv calibration dvd, AVIA and Digital Video Essentials are fairly good ones.
Also some dvd movies come with THX OPTIMIZER, very basic, but it will get you on the right track.
Hope this helps.
