That doesn't make sense at all. R4 and CycloDS use different kernels and different build of Moonshell.
Make sure that you have the right software on the right card to start.

Eljudo what colour R4 card do you have ,Black or white?
Apparently there are 2 different pieces of software, one for the white card and the other for the black.

If I'm going to invoke "Thumper's rule for my later post, I would be remiss in not doing the same for this post in this thread as well.

Please check your facts and/or understand what you are posting before you post it.
The statement that you make is just not true, and could potentially cause others a lot of confusion and problems
Please be instructed to check your facts more thoroughly before you post in the future.
There are at least 10 posts a week regarding R4s, their variations/mutations, and the various versions of firmware. Reading any of these might have allowed you to rethink your post.

I think you had bettert to check your R4 kernnel. Makesure you use the latest version, because the card can not be loaded if your kernnel is not set up correctly or the version is not compatiable.

Dailun,
This is where I had my information from, and as a novice I took it at face value.
I'm glad you could have a good laugh
Dear Customer,
You have purchased the new SDHC R4 Card which requires the latest software, downloadable from our site. Please click on the following link to be taken to the download page and follow these simple steps below.
R4 Information page.
Once you have downloaded to your desktop, the appropriate R4 file* Right-click on the R4 Zip file and select Extract all
Once extracted, select all of the files, 5 in total that have appeared on your desktop. (File Names: SYSTEM, MOONSHL, DS_MENU, DS_MSHL.NDS and DS_MENU CONFIG SETTINGS. Select them and Cut. Insert your Micro SD card using the USB reader provided and insert into a USB slot.
Now, Right click. Then paste the folders/files onto the Micro SD card (Note: this will take a few minutes.)
Almost done, All that's left to do now is to copy over the games onto the Micro SD.
(Note: Games must be in NDS format. Place games next to the DS files not inside.)
Now you are ready to play. Remove the card from your computer, place it inside the R4 adapter and place the R4 adapter into the Nintendo DS / Lite.
When the R4 loads up, select the Pacman picture which is where your games are listed.
There are two pieces of software available for your R4 card. Please make sure you download the correct version, depending on which colour card you have.
If you are still having problems you can contact us on +44 (0) 1534 713100 and an operator will help you through the process.
Kind Regards,

whats a "Thumper's rule" LOL
the color of the R4 has nothing to do with what firmware to use, there are about 9 different types of R4 clones, each card use its own firmware.
