I have bought an R4 adaptor for my NDS .I have downloaded the software and loaded some games on it. These work fine but when I load movies onto the card they do not work. Has anyone any idea what I need to do whether I need more software or not .
Thanks in anticipation.

Wrong forum. This belongs in the Nintendo DS forum.

One statement but I will not continue the thread in this forum.

Did you convert the movies to .dpg?

Please clarify. Can't be loaded onto your DS or can't be played through moonshell?????

You need to select the Media option on the R4 menu screen. (middle icon)

Select your .dpg file and if it was correctly encoded, it should play.

I cannot load the Movie. When I hit the Multimedia icon I get an error message that I am unable to read because it goes off the screen too quickly.

That sounds more like a moonshell problem since you aren't even getting a file menu. Check and make sure that you have the correct kernel/moonshell package for your variation of R4 card.

How do I know if it is the right Kernel/Moonshine package?.
It's the one I was told to download.

You can edit your previous post - believe me I'm the queen of typos and use the feature quite often :)

Wel,, without rehashing the "There are 9 different versions of the R4" discussion, I can't be sure which R4 you have even though you say "I have an R4 adapter".

Have you contacted the people that you bought it from? They're usually the first stop. Without definitively identifying which variation of R4 you have there's really not even enough to start with.

If you have the Original R4 (R4 Revolution for DS, which can come with a BLACK OR WHITE shell), you shouldn't be using anything greater than 1.18.

I cannot speak to any of the other versions.

Then I'm sorry but I do not know what kernel you should be using. I'm pretty sure that it's NOT 1.18, which is for the original (non-SHDC card) version.

I would still contend that you do not have the correct moonshell version/configuration for your flashcart.

If you look in my signature you will see the website that hosts all the flash cart firmwares. They also host homebrew, if you go into that you will see Moonshell - I am unsure if it will work on your card, but you should put moonshell on the card (root) when you switch on the DS run moonshell and then select the media file to play.

I have downloaded version 1.25 and am now able to watch some of the movies . Perhaps the other ones are corrupt I'll convert a few more and see if they'll work.
Thanks to everyone for your help
