Virus that my anti-virus wont remove

Every time i run my anti-virus it says i have a trojan horse but wont remove it says its being used by another proccess. I tried to run the anti-virus in safe mode but it didn't pick it up. I'm sure by now everyone has noticed I dont really know what I'm doing so any help getting rid of this will be greatly appreciated.
