Any chance you installed another burning program just before this showed up?

I would be inclined to uninstall Nero using the Nero Cleaning Tool (writing down my serial numbers first) then reinstall.

Burn process failed at 18x (24,930 KB/s)

The power calibration error is often caused by poor media - however burning at 18x is much too high and may be the cause of the failure.
Set the burn speed back to 8x or even 4x.

I believe Nero lets you do a simulation burn (use a blank DVD - but no writing takes place)
