Well, I'm not sure how to start this off. I had come into the possession of a LCD monitor from a laptop from my cousin. The information I had obtained on this particular piece is as follows:

Manufacturer - LG Philips
P/N - LP154W01 (TL)(A9)
Size - 15.4"
Laptop possibly removed from - HP Pavilion DV5000

And all I have is the screen, nothing else. My thoughts were to possibly give it a case and use it as a monitor for my 360 or w/e other use I might want to use. My problems en lie in the fact I need the Ribbon Connector (or which ever you may want to call it), and the Inverter board for the Backlight. I've searched and failed in finding. Would someone be so kind as to point me in the right direction as to where i can find such pieces? And possibly help me out as to what the pin-outs may be for these so I can add controls for brightness and such?

Thanks in advance.

You are better off buying a monitor and sell the screen on eBay for parts.

You could buy a 19" Widescreen for the time and parts it you take you to pull this off.

You are Missing way more pieces than you have in quantity and value.
You can't hook up a PC display output directly to a bare laptop screen.

It's one of those ideas that 'sounds good", but when you actually find out what to need to make it work it doesn't seem so good.

Well even if so, I'd like to see if it's even possible. Maybe I could figure something else out to use it with. Maybe mount it on my desk somewhere as a second monitor or figure out how to make a digital picture frame out of it. If not I'd like to see about maybe finding something and making a computer out of it and have this screen fashioned right into it.

I'd really like to see just how much it would take in order for it to work. If I could find that out I'd then figure if it's worth it or not.

You're at least $100.00 USD parts to get started.

Make sense yet?

True. I mainly figured i would look as to what I might be able to do if at all possible before just scrapping and selling or w/e. I may hold onto it for a little while to see if I might find other uses or something. Thnx for the advice.
