I'm attempting to mod my fat PS2 to play PSX games. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure of what I'm doing, and am having a hard time figuring it out, so I'm giving up and asking here. So far I have the following:
Swapmagic 3.6
Quick Slide Tool
PSXLauncher on my USB Mass Storage Device, in a file titled "SWAPMAGIC" and a file name of PSXLAUNCHER
Hacked PSX disc (in this case FFVII)
I know how to launch Swapmagic, open the tray with the tool, and insert the hacked disc, but it says that it cannot upload the disc because it is not a PS2 disc. I am using the CD Swapmagic, not the DVD. Basically I need to know what steps I'm missing as far as the PSXLauncher is concerned, whatever I might supposedly need to do with a PSX original disk or whatnot. I'm highly confused and really just need some guidance. Thanks in advance for the help!
Well ffgriever who is the maker of ESR.ELF, is working on a psx launcher of the PS2.
But like most of us he is very busy with other things in life, so when and if this happens is hard to say.
