I ran it through DVD Identifier. This is what I got. Not sure how to cross reference the code/type. I saw a chart that showed this info but I can't find it.

If you punch the ID D21 into this site, you can see the different labels which has this code and the opinions of some users.

Is this media ok?

Probably this site.
They show it as highly rated.
I've never used Sony, but I haven't heard anything particularly bad about it.

I've had no troubles burning Sony (branded) D21 discs at 8x. Never tried 16x with one though.

Sony D21? Very good, especially the tubs that are made in Taiwan. I believe Malaysia makes some of them now. Very easy to get at most Brick and mortar stores.

My benqs and plextor love tham. I rate them on the same spectrum as the plus format Ritek and Ricoh.

They are hit or miss on some dvd-rw drives.

Best to pick up a tub, burn a few at different speeds and see how they score in a program such as Nero's Quality disc, kprobe, dvdinfopro,or plextools. Also make sure they play in all the drives that are going to be playing those backups.

HP a1118x-b/athlon 64-3300+/BenQ 1650 BCDC/LG 8163B/Modded Wii/Epson-R300 and Ty Watershields!!!
