Gah, you didn't install it from inside Windows did you? That Wubi installer creates as many problems as it attempts to fix, the number of cries for help that trace back to that rubbish is ridiculous. Not having a go at you, but at the idiot Ubuntu devs who push it.

The most reliable way to install is to boot from the CD itself. If you installed through Windows, uninstall, then install it directly from the CD, or just play around in the live environment until you're comfortable (don't need to install to get a feel for it). If you haven't already, back up all your important stuff... Not that you will if you do everything the right way, but you shouldn't be playing around with hard drive partitioning unless you're prepared to potentially lose everything on there.

Hi ozmick Update on problem. so while i was waiting for help I went out and got a usb mouse just in case I even needed on sometime. yes I installed inside windows before and it installed a dream. except for the mouse and keyboard problem. the usb mouse worked on linux but still no keyboard to type anything. so I uninstalled it. so took your advice and did the demo live install what you where talking about. it started loading the cd. loading ..... it went into dos. {DR-DOS} A:/ and its giving me a list of Current options /mux
