Hello, I'm new here, and I know some basics of disecting old parts of PCs...
I have and old Dell Latitude L400, and the monitor I'm using is a bit faulty nowadays...

Getting to the point, I need help on how it is that I'm able to use my L400 monitor as a Desktop monitor;

What do I need to do?

The simple answer is:

NO.

The more detailed answer is:

NO. The Laptop has no provision for input, and converting the panel to a standalone display requires substantial rework and custom parts, power supply, etc.

Another post wanted to do this with a bare panel, and I suggested to him that there was probably better value in selling the panel for parts and using the proceeds to defray the cost of a new monitor.

Actually, it is possible, depending on how good you are with disassembling things. What you can't do is still use your laptop normally. However, while this isn't what you asked for, you can actually gut laptops and hook the screens up to other PCs.
