LG GDR8162B won't read Wii games anymore

I have an acer laptop running xp media centre, and had bought the lg 8162b drive and put it into an external case (usb) and hooked it up to the laptop. I bought it to backup Wii games...I ran Rawdump 2 and dumped the game, but it was on a fat32 drive. I then remembered that it has to be NTFS for files bigger than 4gb.
So I put it on my external HD and put the disc in and it won't read it anymore....it just keeps spinning then slowing down then spinning again.
I tried Rawdump back on the main drive, Restarting etc, but it won't read them. It will read cds and dvds.
Hope someone can help.
