Keyboard HELP!! volume problems

ok this is driving me crazy
i have a lap top with out a volume button and i used to use a is a keyboard shortcut to control the up/down of the volume but i haven't used this comp in like a year and i cant for the life of me remember what the short cut was and i cant keep useing the mouse to control the volume or i will shoot my self
can any one help with in any way with my volume problem

Since what you're describing is not a "standard function" of any PC it might be helpful if you provided the make and model or the laptop, OS, etc.

well i am using vista but last time i found this i just googled keyboard volume controling and i got an answer like hit ctrl+r or something and it worked on my lap top and my desktop and my wife comp witch are all differant but i stoped useing the short cut and i forgot it and i tryed to google it agein and i cant find it

AFAIK, this is a hardware function that is specific to the laptop. On the Thinkpad, it's Fn-PgUp/PgDn and on my HP, it's something else.

ok then what keyboard short cut works on a gatway laptop and a home made desk top and a dell desk top cause the keyboard short cut i used to use was the same for all of them

it was easy i hit ctrl and one key for up and one key for down

OK, NP. My post was out of line. My sick 7 yr. old is now asleep. Let me see if I can help.

Everything I have read indicates that Windows doesn't have this functionality by default. This is just my research and doesn't mean to refute your memory or experience.
