I have watched the tutorial on you tube and it all connects there fine.

Hi all.
I have been able to get it almost to work by using a wifi game.
The error I am getting now is "cant connect with FTP server confim the setting of the ini file.
Can anyone shed some light on that?
It has connected with the router as the ip address is shown on the top screen
Cheers

I used the same stuff and managed to get it working after a few false starts. The first advice I can give you is to disable all your firewalls, anti-spyware and the likes. Sometimes I find that turning them off completely doesn't actually work, just select "Disable" or something else from their respective menus. This includes windows firewall. And if you're running vista, you might find it helpful to disable the User Account Control as well. That tends to mes things up.

Also, are you positive you are using the correct I.P. address? It should be the local address of your specific computer i.e. something like 192.168.x.x as opposed to something like 76.x.x.x or whatever.

Double check all user passwords and the like in the .ini file.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I am using the ip address from my wireless router is that correct?
Also do you have to port forward the router?
And also do you have to port forward you modem as well?
It connects fine to the internet whilst useing wifi game.
I also have tried it on my other pc which is running XP, have disable all security software = mcafee.
Would appreciate more help.
Thanks again

Hmm, have you tried using a different port number? I was reccommended to use port 808, but your computer may be using that port for something else. Make sure your using the I.P address of your COMPUTER, not the router.

Could you post the contenst of your .ini file here? Might be usefull.

Rather than backing up your games, why not just download the roms for them. Now I know what you're all saying!! I'm not going to post any links to rom sites, or tell you how to download them, however I will mention that it is 100% legal to download roms for games you already own.

That should save you some time and trouble.

Very true cturtle, although you have to be careful because there are Bricker viruses out there. Also, backing up your games yourself takes a long time. That said, this is still a useful method for backing up your save games.

It's not legal to download roms for games that you own. That is a myth. There are a lot of stupid laws on the books and the illegality of possessing ROMS of games you own (even if you made your own backups) is one of them unfortunately. Emulators on the other hand are perfectly legal despite what Nintendo wants you to believe.
