Sorry for title: I can't GET the picture quality I used to.

I haven't been on these forums (on this section) for quite some time now. It took a while to start from scratch making DVD's and I have only my friends at AfterDawn to thank...So thanks.

So it has been years since then and I know times have changed. I am was using RipIt4Me to Rip, DVD Rebuilder to encode and ImageBurn to burn. I have always used Verbatim DVD+R single layer. My copies were flawless and I never had a complaint.

But then RipIt4Me stop getting updates because of DVD decrypter was no longer supported so I looked elsewhere to rip my content to my HD.
I am currently using DVD Fab HD decrypter. I see a big difference from the original content to the finished product. Fuzzy grainy picture quality. Is it possible DVDFab is the issue?

Thanks so much in advance!

TJ

I use DVDFab and DVD Rebuilder all the time. I never had a problem with the quality.

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Same here, quality is excellent. Perhaps you have made some changes since the last time you used these programs.

DVDFab to rip, vobblanker always used to cleanup the rips as i no longer trust DVDFab to do that, regardless of whatever cleanup updates the Fab guys release :)
Movies are ripped in movie only mode, episodics in full disc mode (nothing removed). HC Encoder in Rebuilder always produces outstanding results, even down to 44% video compression on series such as Battlestar Galactica. Battlestar discs always turn out very well indeed, even at the 44% level, amazing considering how many dark scenes are in a series such as this
