Hi Gurus,

I have Nero 8 on windowXP, My PC initally had one CD-Rom and one CD-RW.
I removed CD-ROM and replaced it with SONY DVD Writer(DVD RW DRU-V204A).

I tried to write DVD(Staples,DVD+R) and other brands also many times, but always it says DVD burn successfully, but after that only that DVD drive(not window) gets hanged. and I need to restart my pc to get the DVD out.
But every time I found it blank.

One time , I was able to write DVD, at that time another CD-RW was not connected with PC.

I tried to see nero log to find out problem, but couldn't see any thing that give me some hint about problem.

Thanks in advance.

The Sony site does not list a firmware update (1.60).

Nero is treating the burner as a generic brand - don't know why.

Try burning with Imgburn.
Use the guide on the link to burn a DVD video folder.
A known, good brand of blank DVD is 'Verbatim'.
Burn at half the maximum listed on the package.

If this is a new burner and you can return it - I would - burners have been around long enough that they should work out of the box.
