Hi guys, I'm new to the forums and this is my first post.
I had an error message from Nero recently when trying to create an audio cd which read
"One or more files could not be added to the compilation. It may be possible, that the files can be added, if a dedicated plug-in is installed."
Now I'd searched the forums and found others had had this problem and there were a couple of suggestions on how to fix it, which had mixed results and none of which worked for me.
I am posting here because I found the answer to my particular problem and I thought it might be helpful for others to try it if they have the same problem.
The problem was that Nero was trying to look in the wrong place for the audio plug-ins folder, looking for it in an "Ahead" folder like the older versions used rather than "Nero". These are the steps I took to fix Nero 8.
Now before we start, if you break anything as a result of trying anything I suggest, it's your problem. I take no responsibility.
Load Nero, go to "Options" and then click the "Audio" tab. Click "Browse" and locate your plug-ins directory (this is usually "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nero\AudioPlugins" for Nero 7+) and then click OK. Now click "Apply". You can check they are working correctly by clicking on "Options" where you should get a list of all available plugins.
People who run Vista X64 (as I do) may have to go in to regedit and do a search for "AudioPlugin" in their HKEY_USERS and change the value to the correct directory. The correct key will end with "\Wow6432Node\Nero\Shared\". My system would revert back to the old settings if I didn't change this value. Running Nero elevated had no effect.
That's it, you're done. If someone has already posted a fix similar to or the same as this one, I do apologise.
