i am new here and Looking for some expert opinion please

Been doing a bit of research on these two. From what I can gather the Eurovox 5000 seems to be better in terms of the EPG and timer recording. They are both around the same price 100 - 105. With the SV4, I would be able to use an external HDD, but with the eurovox 5000 I would have to go with The HDD option for an extra 50 quid or slot one in myself at a later date.

I have a couple of questions if someone doesnt mind helping me out.

What is meant by single channel / dual channel?
Do either of the above PVR's allow files to be transferred to a PC or another HDD?
What is the difference between the EV5000 and EV5100?
Any particular sites recommended for dicounts on multiple purchases of these PVR'S?

Thanks in advance!

I think you mean single tuner / dual tuner, ex 5000 / 5100 /starview 4 pvrs have only one tuner so limited to recording and watching other channels, it can be done but only if the channel you are wanting to record is on the same frequency as the one you are wanting to watch. Some Transponders/Frequencies have 15-20 channels others can be limited to 1 channel so in comparison to a dual tuner as said it is limited.

Starview 4 do allow file transfer to the PC as for the Eurovox PVRs I haven't seen anyone as of yet say they have successfully converted the file type so it is viewable on a PC, so as far as I know it is not viewable on a PC.

What is the difference between the EV5000 and EV5100?

Both are similar receivers but the EX5100 are definitely not cloned so you can be safe in buying one (for now)

I personally wont recommend any sites anymore, use the search-bar at the top of the page or may be someone else will advise you

Hope this answers your questions ;)
