Okay, so I have a controller problem right now on my hands.While playing Star Ocean 3 halfway, my controller stopped responding to me.The red analog light was still on but the buttons were unresponsive.I plugged out and plugged in the controller.The analog light should have turned on by itself when I plugged it in but it didn't.It only lighted up when i pressed the analog button.Other buttons were still unresponsive.So...is it the problem of the controller itself or the PS2 controller port?I can't bring it to a friend's house and test things out since none of my friends have a working ps2.Thanks for the help and your time.

Try another controller. (one that is not defective) If the problem still persist maybe your controller port is having a problem! The pins inside might have been damage. Most cases of controller port problems is that the solder inside of the pins is loose! If you can open your ps2 and you have a soldering iron, then solder it! ( or just ask a technician)
