Dual Layer burning - help!

OK,

I have got Dual Layer Verbatims and am burning Forbidden Siren 2 (5.44gb) at 4x speed.

However, although the iso burns, it will not verify, erroring at 50% and only 3,87gb is on the disc. It will not read in he PS2 either.

I am using IMGburn to burn.

I have not changed any settings in IMGBurn, but i keep hearing about "layer breaks" and needing to set these. Do i need to do this?

Also, do i need to 'patch' the game? If so, where will i get a patch from? I use a Matrix Infinity chip and thought these would play any backup without the need of a patch.
