R4DS Cheat

I have The Sims 2 for my R4DS.
When I get to the Games menu and hit 'Y,' I selected the cheat option 'maximum mechanical skill points' since I (well, my niece) is at that point in the game where you need to obtain 5 MSP.
After I did that, the Sims 2 game will no longer load. It just sits there if you tick it with the stylus or press 'A', and if 'y' is pressed, its just blank on the bottom screen except for the message: 'cheat code v102 Date 2007/05/20.'

The other games work; but then, I haven't done a cheat on any of the others.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm a bit of a noob, I apologize if this is a stupid question!
