I have made like 20 games so far on SONY DVD-R disc and maybe 5 of them work without skipping. For some reason I can't play some of them especially if it's a game with like movie sequences in it being when it start's talking and playing the movies it skips alot and freezes and takes awhile. My disc are 1-16x write speed and Iv used near about all the write speeds and none seem to work for most of the games. Could someone PLEASEEE tell me what Im doing wrong and how to get this fixed. Sorry if I posted in wrong section or someone already talked about this but what I saw did'nt help me any. As well Iv tried the 1x and 2 and 2.4 and 8x write speeds and none work like Iv read to burn them. Thanks B

Your better off with verbatims, as they are better quality media that work pretty well with the ps2. And clean the laser in your ps2, see if that helps.

I'd get a Verbatim RW disc this will stop you making coasters, next use imgburn to create an iso in read mode, then use the write option in imgburn & see if that works, however before you read & write be sure in the task manager that there's no other hidden processes that are running like indexing etc if there are shut em down,if you find the burn failed as you have mentioned you need to look at the burner your using assuming the originals are working fine coz if they are then your PS2 is ok which only leaves your burner or whatever software you're using to copy the games or you're method

ok I use IMGBURN now and I get my backups off torrents to ME I prefer that way it's less time consuming then having to rip them and all as well i never have a failed burn it always says successfully completed it just skips all the time.

Successful burn means nothing it has no way of knowing if any errors are present then there's the uploader,he/she will only upload iso's of games that work on their machine & who knows if the patches, if any will work on yours including any skipped read errors, then again the iso could just be stuffed, using torrents for anything is a risk, there is a way to make you're own if you don't have the originals without downloading but i can't say what that is you'll have to figure it out for yourself...by the way it takes far less time than you seem to think to rip & burn,15 mins to have a working backup give or take a few mins just depends on amount of data, far faster than downoading

Man this is MY exact setup; Im on a Slim 70000 Series.I too was getting lag issues with Sony DVD Rs,on low burn settings.I started to max the Burn speed an now they fly. Also they WILL LAG if your laser is dirty. It does NOT matter that originals work either! The laser h as to work ALOT harder to run backups! So if it still lags CLEAN laser.

Ps2 Slim Laser Clean;Easy just take a dab on rubbing alcohol,an LIGHTLY dab the laser with it.Spinning it counter clockwise three to four times.Do NOT overdue it.

PS2 FAT:I will link to this,as it is far more time consuming,an of couse requires the removal of case.

Hope these were helpful,I too was HATING the lag,an LONG loading times!

Also the Burn Tool I use is :ImgBurn:If you rather use that;HERE
