Upgrading a notebook integrated graphics card advice

The system board I'm needing to buy is HERE. Now I've emailed HP about this and they are the one's who referred me to Pell Technology. I've emailed Pell about this question and it's been days and still no response yet, but I'm wondering if anyone here could answer this question for me. I'm wondering if that particular system board comes with integrated graphics already, or if I have to install it myself. The processor isn't a big deal as I already have one I can put in. But I'm wanting my original graphics, the nVidia 8600M GS, or better. Has anyone had any experience working with this particular system board? I new to laptop hardware, but not to PC hardware and I stripped the GPU off my bad system board just to get an idea of how it works. I noticed that it seemed like the GPU just has contacts to the board and poxy on the corners. I'm sure there has to be more to the graphics than this single chip. But as I said, I'm new to laptop hardware, so I could be wrong. Is it possible to order just this GPU and make the contact on the board myself and seal it, or is there more to it than just this one chip? If this is something that I can do myself, I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to upgrade the 8600M GS 512mb dedicated to anything better. If this is possible what are your suggestions. If this isn't something I can do myself, then I guess I'll just have to keep waiting for Pell Technologies to respond to my email. And if this isn't possible, could I please get an explanation why? Please don't respond with "it's impossible". I'm trying to teach myself some new stuff about laptop hardware and would like some kind of explanation if at all possible about why it's impossible, if it is. Thanks!

You know, I read through your whole post and actually had some information and reasonably accurate advice until I got to the bottom where you said
"Please only respond if you are 100% sure and can prove it"
I think it's pretty cheeky to come to a site asking for help and then making conditions and demands.

Well, you misunderstand what I mean by that. Alot of people will claim to know 100% that they are right, even when they really aren't sure. I just don't want someone to say, nope, that's completely impossible when it really isn't, and I give up on this project. No offense meant. I've researched similar threads on different sites about pretty much the same thing, and alot of people say that it's completely impossible whatsoever, and then some people say that it is possible, just very hard and risky to do and I don't know who to believe. Do you understand what I'm trying to say?

As far as I'm aware, graphics cards of the level of the 8600M GS can't be swapped in or out as the cooling attachment and mounting point are specifically designed for them.

Ok, I'm giving up on the whole installing a chipset myself thing. If it is possible, I can't find any kind of resources for it. So, with that being said, I'm looking for a motherboard for an HP Pavilion DV9700 series. The old graphics chipset, like I said before, was the nVidia Geforce 8600M GS 512MB Dedicated. I've been looking for this motherboard, but all I can find easily is the 128MB or 256MB or any of the shared memory ones. Does anyone know where I can get the same chipset I had before, or even better if possible? I've checked eBay and found a few matches to the part number of the motherboard, 461069-001, but the sellers aren't listing the graphics chipset that comes with the board. The few ppl that I've asked them what they were either didn't know what I was talking about, or it was the shared memory versions. Any help would be much appreciated. And I apologize if I offended anyone in any previous threads. Thanks.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that was what the M was for in 8600M. Doesn't the M mean that it's integrated into the board? And I'm not an expert or anything at laptop hardware, but I'm pretty sure that this particular board does have the chip integrated. I couldn't find any kind of board for the graphics set.

No, M means mobile, i.e. for a laptop, not a desktop.
Here's a pic of the 8600M GS.
Looks pretty dedicated to me.

And with the chip itself, I see what you're talking about now. But the motherboard I need isn't the MXM compatible type. Unless I can get the same motherboard that is MXM compatible, which I don't know if I can or not. But that's the board you have shown me a picture of. GeForce 8600M MXM II GS. The board comes with the on in this picture: chip as you can see in the picture of the board itself: 461069-001. This is the exactl part number off of the original board that was in my laptop, and it had the 512MB dedicated 8600M GS, so I know it has to exist. The board in this last picture looks pretty identical to the one I have now that's no good anymore.

Well, it's not that old of a laptop. The dv9700t series was released in January of 08, so I'd think spares for it would still be floating around.
