There's your answer.

what does that mean what do i need to do to fix this problem? Does that have to do with my drive? Firmware update? Should i uninstall the driver and install it again?

I think your burner is fine, but there is no write strategy for the discs you are using....
Quote: I 21:19:41 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66)
It should look more like this....
Quote: I 20:52:17 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: MKM-001-00) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x)
You could get a new burner and hope they support the dodgy discs you are trying to use or buy some Verbatims and use them with the drive you already have. The price for a new drive and the cost of Verbatim DL's bought in bulk is about the same, but the Verbatims have a higher chance of working in an old drive than the Ritek dye used in your TDK discs in a new drive.

Ok i updated the firmware and purchased the verbatims but now the drive is not recognizing the media?? Seems like im moving backwards what do i do now?Do i need to clean my dvd burner drive it seems like it is reading it and then it gets interrupted by a weird noise then it seems like it begins to read it once more and so on...but keeps getting interrupted
Ever since i downloaded that firmware my burner is acting weird how can i downgrade back to the firmware i previously had?

Hello everyone. If its not clearly marked I am completely new to posting here. Though I have been one to search for answers to all my DVD burning issues here. But I am now stumped and I cant find a solution to my problem. Also I am not sure if I was to start a new thread or state my issue here in a thread relating to my issue.
I was burning some DVDs on to some of my trusty TDK DVD-R disc but I ran out I had just burned 10 DVDs, one right after another. Now I had in the past bought some Sony DVD-R from COSTCO for $30 BOGO. A 200 DVDs for $30 bucks well I couldn't pass it up. So now I open these discs up and what do I get but a I/O Error specifically Invalid Field in CDB. So I have collected log data from DVD Identifier first is my TDK then the Sony discs I tried to use. I got the error message with IMGBurn then I tried DVD Decrypter and the same issue occurs. I even tried uninstalling DVD decrypter and reinstalling and trying different write speeds in stead of auto and max. I have also located the newest version of my DVD burner drivers and upgraded that and rebooted. Nothing so far seems to help. I am starting to think these dvds are bunk but I want to rule everything else out first.

DVDGoblin - Hi and welcome. However if you compare signature pics you'll see mine is vastly smaller (Forum Rules in my signature detail allowed limits) and yours takes up an entire monitor screen.. Please fix it ASAP.
