Hi everyone,
I downloaded a PS2 game and when I unzipped the rar files I got the following files:
a .bin file
a .img file
a .28 file
The files are all in different folders.
I just need to know how to burn them on a dvd (I got a modified PS2 console).
Thanks a lot
The game is Tekken 4.
The .28 file was part of the 21 rar files I downloaded (the whole file name is SLUS_203.28); when I unzipped all of the 21 files, I got the SLUS_203.28 file along with the other files I mentioned.
Also I forgot to mention, there is a file of type "SpeedDial".
I have never heard of SpeedDial file but I can tell you how to burn a PS2 Image file (ISO,BIN or any valid format).
Before you start to burn games you must make sure you use an A brand quality DVD's (Philips, Sony, Tayo Uden). I always use Sony DVD+R and I never had a coaster. Anyway if you use a bad quality DVD, it wont probably load.
1.) Download and install DVD Decrypter 2.) Open DVD Decrypter then go to MODE > ISO > WRITE 3.) Now you have enabled the burning function, under the taskbar you will see: please select a file. Click on the folder icon.
4.) Now you need to select the PS2 image file, mostly this file is the biggest file, so just check the file size.
5.) After you found the image file select it in DVD Decrypter (what I have explained in step 3 :)
6.) Now you must select the write speed, a lot of people are getting problems because they burn it on a high speed. Always use a low speed, I use 2x. Set the speed to 2x and click on the big icon (the one with a hdd-play-disk icon) and it will start to burn.
Its the same concept for all the images you find on the internet, load it in DVD decrypter, use good media, burn on low speed. Thats it.
What you got was the unpacked image file - the contents of an ISO file.
The .bin files are, I believe, general information files. They can hold any sort of data. ...or at least that's what Filext tells me.
The .img file is just that - an image file. Not exactly a disc image. It can be an image of anything.
The .28 file... I don't know, but the entire filename - SLUS_203.28 - is the region code of the DVD, I believe. SLUS = US region, 20328 = Product ID or something like that. (At least that's what I gathered from dealing with old PS1 gamesaves.)
The "SpeedDial" file... I'm not sure what it is, but I'm pretty sure it's integral to the game.
Anyway, what you have to do, I believe, is find out how those files are all ordered before you start burning it. Just throwing them randomly into ImgBurn or Nero or whatever won't work. (At least I don't think so.)
What you need to know is how the files and folders are arranged in relation to each other, because this determines how they're burned onto the disc; usually, the most important data is on the outside of the disc, as this helps reduce wear on the laser and decreases read time.
The only way to know the arrangement is to get the LBA file (a list of where files are, as well as how much space they get... at least that's the impression I get) by looking at the actual ISO and seeing from there.
Now bring back up ISO Buster Pro 1.8 again, so you can reference the files in order.
at DISC NAME: put your SLUSXXX.XX file (with no period). at PRODUCER NAME: always put PLAYSTATION, at VOLUME: put 50CENT or name of the game, at PUBLISHER: put your name or anything, at LICENSE NAME: America (or wherever the disc/or you're from, so if you're from Europe, put Europe, if you're from Japan, put Japan).
Now go into your hard drive and create a Folder name IML, then EXIT out.
**STEP 4**
Now open up Gnie's IML2ISO
The biggest thing is creating an actual ISO file from it. I hope that helps out a bit.
