I suggest that you Do Not Use Any disc coded as CMC Mags.
Most use Taiyo Yudens Or Verbatims.
I only use Taiyo Yuden -R 8X Premium Discs, the can only be gotten Online.
This is where I get mine In the U.S.

CMC Mags stick in ceiling tiles better than Taiyos...actually that's just a theory, I haven't had to throw many Taiyos. They're also good for...hmmm....give me a minute....

The older CMC-MAG AE1 disks were absolutely horrible, but some people, especially the one over at CDFreaks think that the 16X variety are better. I've had my problems with the 4X variety and have shied away from ever using them at all. I'll stick with Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim (not made in India for now) and Sony disks.

I've used Indian Verbs longer than i can remember, not a single problem, either with playback or re-ripping.
The CMC's i've probably been using for about a year now, but have used so many that i can confirm that playback and re-ripping is also no problem as far as i'm concerned.
edit~ http://club.cdfreaks.com/f33/maxell-dvd-r-16x-234468/#post1974980 ~ looks like i started using M01's back in December 2007, and i've certainly eaten my words since then, ie i was dubious of them at the time, but they've proven to be as reliable as RICOHJPNR03 and all my Verbatim/TY discs

Some people have had good experiences with them, some bad. I've had better experiences with Taiyo and Verbs. I've had CMC backups (Philips CMC E01s burned @ 4x) that are less than a couple yrs that are now failing, not to mention the higher failed burn rate. Personally, I'll spend a few dollars more now for the peace of mind. I think experiences vary, but overall it can be proven out that genuine Taiyos and Verbs are more reliable with regard to both burn successes and in the long run. Just my preference though, I don't pretend to p!ss with the big dogs here. I benefit as much as anybody here from the wise insight of our senior members (bowing respectfully).

I've had good luck with Maxell & Phillips C-MAG DVDR's however the C-MAGS I've burned under the Memorex brand seemed to be lower quality media. Somebody gave mr a 50 pack of Magnavox C-MAGS & they burned fine.
