Hi!
I have a starview 2 box, my box shows up around 140 channels but about 50 of these cannot be watched, the screen just freezes when I go onto them or just says it's a scrambled channel.
I have tried going menu > installation > cable network and changing it from TW to N*L but that only recovered about 5 channels. Does anyone know how to help me?
Thanks
p.s I live in Dublin 9 and some of the channels not working include s*y one, not sure if this information helps though.

Do a Factory Reset and a Fresh Installation (Always do this before a rescan) - Presume you have the latest fix 4.57 on The Box
Menu and Down to Factory Settings OK, OK to confim.
Accept English OK and Installation OK
Select correct provider i.e. NTL, C/W or TW
Then automatic scan OK
Once the channels are found, exit back to the blank screen
Press menu then 1570.
Go down to the bottom option and turn EMU to ON.
Now exit 3 times and go to S*y 2 and let it update (Ireland)

I'm not sure if I have the latest fix on it, I most likely dont as I dont know alot about the box. So, if I don't will that negatively effect the channels that I already have?
Thanks for your time by the way, appreciated.

No that action will not affect negatively your channels at all, it is something that is neccessary/needs to be done now and then as Frequencies drift and even change. As regards the Firmware, if you have flashed your box since Dec 08 then you will have it, or if it is AU for you then fine, otherwise you must be manually inputting.
But if you have not got the 4.57 firmware on then why not put it on, go to menu - 1570 and go down to Ststem Information and Press OK and post what it says, to find out.

Ok I'll give that a shot alright, but will turning it off get me out of the language screen straight away? Because I need to use the box asap but I wont have the time to unzip those files for a couple of days, and at the moment I can't even access the channels list.
Thanks again

Make sure that your remote is working okay, as when you do a factory Reset it automatically takes you to the Language screen, so check the batteries.
