Hello all newbie here,

I recently purchased a CCTV DVR that has a CD packaged with it of NERO8. I have been instructed to load the inCD portion of the software to ??properly?? format DVD to be used in the DVD burner for saving video that I want to keep.

Is there something special about this inCD that will format a DVD different than say Roxio??

I have loaded the software and my system started having problem with locking up. As soon as I could re-boot and get to the point of removal of software and re-boot again my system is back to normal.

I also found unusual that the inCD portion of the software package is the only one that is deactivated to be loaded. I had to turn off all others and turn on only the inCD before continuing the install process.

It seems to me that this Nero software is a huge PITA. So I am looking for an alternative that will do the same job. I already have Roxio but was told that this inCD will be needed.

I am a bit confused.

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.
