ive been lurking here for a while, and recently wanted to make a dvd backup of swap magic 3.8 to load through my swap magic 3.6. no matter how i try to do it, all the discs i burn come up as"not a valid PS2 disc" can anyone help? ive tried Nero, alcohol 120%, and dvddecrypter. i have the ISO, but i just wont work. perhaps someone could give me step by step instructions?
What brand of DVD are you burning to? If you can, get yourself some Taiyo Yuden, Sony, or Verbatim discs. And when you burn, make sure to set the Booktype to DVD-ROM.
1.) You can only boot from the SM CD if you're planning on playing a CD-based game. Some PS2 games are written on CDs, and that's what the CD Swap Magic is for.
2.) There should be an option in Nero to set the Booktype to DVD-ROM. Most DVD burners should have the option of changing the booktype. Yours should, too.
3.) Memorex, if I remember correctly, isn't exactly the best of options. Definitely try getting a Sony/Taiyo Yuden/etc.
4.) I believe RWs are a lot more iffy on the PS2 than regular DVD-/+Rs. I'd definitely suggest buying a DVD-/+R.
