Rebuilding? What's the "old way" and the "new way"?
Have you tried gnie's Xpert tool? It might have a plugin designed specifically for those games.
But rebuilding is a touchy deal. You'd probably have more luck asking over in the alucard forums.
And what do you mean by "not work"? How are you trying to play them? USBAdvance? Or HDLoader? Or what?

Hi,thanks for responding, what I meant by the old way is using cdvdgen, and the new way I was refering to xpert. Both games are like 4.5 GB and won't boot with swap magic.I apoligize for forgeting not swap magic, swap magic 3.6 that is.Can't seem to find any dummy files of my knowlege, because if say xpert for example refuse to get rid of a dummy, I would basically result to its relinker feature. With Swap magic 3.6 I can't play them, what I am doing wrong.

You could try downgrading some of the videos. There might be some PSS files in there; those are often MPEG-2 videos with WAV audio. You can demux, re-encode at a lower bitrate, and put them back into wherever they originated from.
That'd save some space, but it'll reduce the quality of your in-game movies somewhat.
And I just took a look over at alucard.cc, and it seems that GTA: San Andreas is actually only 4.34 GB. Try ripping the ISO with Xpert, then simply rebuilding it again. You should get an ISO filesize that's around 4.34 GB. (The 4.5 GB is due to the LBA or something like that.) Then you should be able to burn straight to DVD5 without an issue. After that, pop it into Swap Magic like usual and you should be good to go.
...or, y'know, I just realized that maybe your disc media isn't a good choice. What brand of DVD are you using? Are you burning it at the lowest speed? Are you setting the Booktype on the burner to DVD-ROM?

If it's worked with Nero before, then it's probably nothing with Nero.
Again, did you try just ripping/rebuilding? That might easily chop it down to the right size. (It's something about how the LBA makes it seem bigger than it is or something...)

Well good news and bad news,The good is I got stuntman ignition rebuilded coming down to about 2.3 GBs or something like that using xpert, bad news is GTA VC when trying to rebuild again acutually becomes a size of 4.6 using xpert. So I was wrong before about GTA because the original size how I got it was 4.3, AS well as stuntman ignition. Now Should I try rebuilding GTA with cdvdgen again.LBA,what could I do to fix that.

Well with nero its the same thing plus the even worse part is the files are not in their right order,no matter how many times you try to organize'em,you know like what you do with iso buster and cdvdgen. The GTA rip kit is not perfect, not saying that your suggestion was bad cuz I appreciate it.But I now I do wanna know could there be anymore solution,if not I'll just go with the ripkit.

Nero looks like its not putting them in order, but it does work.
I have done it many a time with ISO's.
I am not sure why the backup doesn't work with Swap Magic without being rebuilt.
It should. I could rip my own here when I have time and see if it works.
My only other advice is too install fmcb 1.8 to a mc, and use ESR to play these games that don't work with Swap magic for you.

I backed my GTA Vice City up last night, tried it this morning with Swap Magic 3.8 and it works great.
I use Sony DVD-R and burn at 4x with Imgburn.
Another thing I could suggest for you is if you have an Original PS2 disk with a higher TOC than GTA Vice City, then do a TOC refresh with your SM 3.6
Here is a list of higher

Clean your laser also helps if needed.

Ok but what is the speed of your disk, you got a DVD-R so thats one thing which is different cuz I been buying DVD+Rs,now is it 16x,8x, or 4x media.

Actually, if you can, try to burn at 1x speed. If you can't manage that, then 2x is fine. The thing is to NOT go fast, as that might cause some bad burning to happen.

From experience burning at slow speeds such as 2x which is the lowest I can burn, always resulted in non-working backups,so maybe should I try a DVD-R 8x on GTA cuz 8x has worked good for all my games for starters.See the thing is I had shifted from DVD-R 8x media to DVD+R 8x media cuz the plus ones function better for me and I would always burned at 4x with no problems but if a game was not bootable then I would rebuild it and that would be that. Now a long time ago I started off with 16x media.I could burn nearly, strangely,at 1x but the backup always come out choppy, out of sync you've haerd it all.8x media did me justice, but the plus 8x DVDs would prove even to be better.I don't know,I think maybe I should get a few DVD-R 8x's again and burn at 4x and see what happens, cuz I read somewhere a person insisted on having different kind of disk in case a game could not work on a another kind of media.

I am not sure where you have heard that, but that is wrong info.
You really should never burn slower than 4x, unless you have a really old burner.

I always use 16x media, but the 4x burn speed is good for either 8x or 16x media.
It is your burner that also makes the difference, could be it like 8x media depending upon what speed it is rated at.
If your using DVD+R, make sure to set your BOOKTYPE to DVD-ROM.

Really? Why is that? Back when my PS2 existed (sad, sad death it was...), I always had issues burning at higher speeds, and when I went down to 4x and 2x, I had more luck. Even between the two, I had the best luck with 2x.
...maybe it's like you say, and my burner's just old. I DID buy it way back in like 2001 or so...

Yes that is old technology already and has been for quite some time.
Burning too slow can cause as many problems as burning too fast.
4x has always been a happy medium for PS2 games and using imgburn or DVD decrypter.
