gt4 dvd9 to dvd5 (pss dwnsized) with esr keeps freezes
i got gt4 gran tursimo uk dvd DL pal . i dvddecrypted it , extracted both layers with apache3 , extracted vol1 file with sonix tool. downsized all pss to 55% , then rebuilt it , patched the sces file . then drag drop files on order of file list as listed in apache , made iso , then esr patched , burned with imgburn and let it verify success .
the game loads disclaimer ie. drive safe, etc.
then loads sony presents gran turismo splash screen
then i select country language
then create save game data
then it fades in Polyphony Digital Developer white screen logo
* if i click X *
it obviously cuts this scene short and proceed to load gt4 ok
however if i let the Polyphony Digital Developer white splash screen logo fade in fully the ps2 the freezes here and i cannot press anything other then reset.
so i thought maybe my TOC is still too large so i then re ripped original downsized all my PSS files again by 50% which brang the TOC to about 4.6gb , but same thing happened. so i thought maybes its still too large so i re ripped original and downsized all pss to 40% which brang the TOC to 4.5gb but still same thing happened.
i have now wasted 4 philips dvd-rs. game works i just have to keep pressing XXXX to skip the Polyphony Digital Developer splash logo otherwise it freezes unless someone can explain what i have done wrong please ?
I beleive I read somewhere that is what happens when rebuilding the PAL version, but I could be wrong.
I think I read it in one of the ripkits txt files.
yeah from what i have gathered , i think sonix v1.02 tool retains all movies via pss downsize . its not the actual polyphone logo that frreezes , i gather its trying to load the intro movie which causes ps2 to freezes
whereas sonix v1.01 tool ...it deleted all these pss movies = i think this is why users who used this tool say their gt4 rip works
i just hv to rember when to press the X to playt gt4 . lol
