I have a sony handycam digital8 (model dcr trv245e). I have a number of digital hi8 tapes that i want to put into dvd format. I find the manual to be completely non-user friendly. Can anyone give me a simple step by step instruction as to what to do. The handycam has usb slot, dv out slot, a/v out and s video out slots.

If you have a DV out then you need a firewire cable, possibly a firewire card, and a good app like WinDV (not WinDVD).
