hi all,my apologies if this in wrong place,
my problem is i have two ds consoles(old one and ds lite)but kids havent played on them for months.anyway found the chargers and decided to charge them up but little light comes on and goes straight off again, the old ds charger still charges the gameboys they have so i,m assuming its the batteries or consoles themselves any ideas greatly appreciated.
thanks joe

Do they turn on?

If they don't do they turn on with the chargers attached and switched on.

If they don't turn on what do they do, flash a screen turn on the green LED.

The one with the screen flashing has a faulty connection or screen - the one the DOESN'T flash is most likely the fault. Not 100% but pretty much. Order a replacement screen (need a tri wing screwdriver to open it and a small soldering iron if its the top screen) Parts can be ordered from eBay or dealextreme.com, for about £10 or so, dealextreme are cheaper but be prepared for a 3-4 week wait.

The DS would need some fault finding, it could be that the battery is charged (hence the charge light going off) but the fuse inside is blown (F2) this fuse is located next to the NDS slot and is surface mount (so very small) but you can test it with a mutimeter.

It depends how far you are able to go in taking the units to pieces and putting them back together again.

If you do not feel confident (even after reading the guides) you may be better to sell them on eBay, Non working DS's get about £20, Lites about £40 and get a new one.
