I got my swap magic 3.6 discs in the mail today with my flip top lid.
Problem, I can't get the swap DVD to load. It spins the disc, and after 4-5 seconds it kicks me back to the browser. The CD one works, and all my DVD based PS2 games work fine. I did notice though that the bottom of my swap dvd looks like an old 33 1/3 record. Is it supposed to look like this?
I can't check this on another PS2, cause my friends sold or broke theirs.
When I booted the CD disc on my PS3, the same thing happened a lot. It would take a LONG time to load, then it'd freak out and bring me back to the PS3 XMB with a disc read error.
I kept starting it up, starting it up, and everything eventually worked out fine. That might be partly the issue with your DVD version.
Try rebooting it and rebooting it. I know that sucks, but after about half an hour or so of trying it out, it finally loaded.
...if it doesn't work after that, then... I dunno, you might be out of luck. Or your PS2 laser is old and/or dirty. How long has it been since you last cleaned the laser? And how old is your PS2? Have you tried any of your regular PS2 CDs on it? I know my PS2 bugged out on CDs until I cleaned the laser a bit and readjusted the rails.
But if you can actually see the PS2 disc when you open up the Browser, then it doesn't seem like an issue with the laser...
Right, i thought it was the laser also, cleaned it and nothing changed.
My PS2 is old, I got it in 04 when my fat PS2 died. But yeah, it spins up, then kicks me back to the browser. I tried rebooting the system like 5-10 times.
Oh well, I got an RMA from the company I got em from. Lets hope the next one isn't borked.4
