Hi i recently bought a samsung kreon drive and when it arrived it was a sata drive which i didn't realise when i bought it so i purchased a ide to sata power cable but now i need info on what to buy in order to attach the data cable any help and possibly some links much appreciated thankyou.

You need an IDE to SATA adapter, something like this:

Some Kreon drives don't work well with a convertor connected to them.

You may want to just get a SATA capable caddy or external convertor like this, you then just connect via USB or Firewire, depending on the one you choose.

Keep in mind your transfer rates will funnel down to IDE capabilities. Just a thought.
