Hi everyone i have FFX packed in a RAR file as an ISO.
when i open it up it shows me a bunch of IRX files, a 90 file and an IMG file.
i want to burn this so i can make it into an IMG i can mount with daemon tools.
ive already tried burning it once but when i go to run it i get the error system.CNF file not found, however if i explore the cd it is in fact inside the cd its just not detecting it for some reason, am i ripping the cd wrong somehow?
do i need to unzip this rar file before i burn it? because if i do that it wont be an ISO anymroe its just a bunch of files so does it matter?
how do i get it to detect i have the CNF file in the cd?

First off, open Winrar, go to Settings>Integration
Then unclick the tab at ISO
YOur ISO images will now show up properly instead of like a .rar file
You should then be able to mount the ISO image or Burn it too DVD-R with imgburn, depending upon what you are doing.
yes i am trying to run this with PCSX2.
I can accesss the ps2 menu but it wont read the disc,
i did what you said and converted the rar into an ISO file by changing the winrar settings so now i am mounting the ffx ISO to daemon tools.
it does show up as HD DVDfinal fantasy X but when i go to run the game it still says system.CNF file not found.
i have no idea how to fix this.
1.) smoky, is it that the files have to be in a specific order? Or can you just build the files in ImgBurn and burn it?
2.) How easy is PCSX2 to use? Last I recall, even on a fairly powerful system, PCSX2 runs very, very slowly. Is that true, or has it advanced in the... two years since I last checked up on it?

Check his post, he hadn't extracted the ISO, only looked at with winrar. If you don't untick the ISO option in File/Settings/Integration, it looks like your ISO image is a .rar file.
Plus PCSX2 has many different Cdvdrom plugins to use and different settings. The system.cnf only tells the PS2 where to load the ELF file, so you can just open ELF instead.

It is easy to use, and yes you need lots of ram and a core-duo processor even with the latest.
It has settings though to stop all your other processes before it starts.
