I need some advice i have just bought a pioneer A04 writer and burnt my first dvd but the problems are as follows.Well at least their no coasters just wont work in my stand alone player
I have used 2 options so far but with only 50% result

Option 1 using

Smart Ripper to rip dvd
dvd2avi then converted with tempegnc to make a dvd mpeg2
authoring and burnt with Ulead Dvd factory
will only work in pc dvd player and not my stand alone which is a Philips dvd718
but would not spit out the disc just spun a few times and then said no disc

option 2

smart ripper
Dvd2avi
Tmpgenc to convert
Authoring with SpruceUp
Burnt with nero 5.5.9.9

same result as option 1

I am thinking that because it wont spit the disc out it must be the media
and that i am doing everything right because when i put it in the pc it starts up automaticaly
a friend of mine tried in his mates panasonic and it work great
All the above programs i used with the default settings
The Blank dvd-r is a white top generic prinatble disc
My stand alone player is a philips dvd718 and i cannot find any info to wheather it reads
dvd-r or wont read dvd-r's
