Panasonic has locked in the Test * L1 error mode

My Panasonic DMR-E85H is locked in the "Test * L1" error mode. I hold down the power button to turn the machine off and the clock flashes 12:00. Only when I turn the machine back on it goes back in to the same error mode. I gave up on it and unplugged it for a month. Today I re-plugged it back in and of course same thing. So unplugging it overnight is not going to work.

I've held <<Reverse/Time Slip/Open-Close over and over and it does nothing. (Not sure why it would.)

I've tapped the off button, waited for it to get down to that last I line of stopping when trying to shut off and I pressed both Channel up/down buttons standing there 1 min, 2 min, 5 min, even 10 min one time. Nothing at all happened.

There are no capacitators or anything burned out. The fan is working fine. The only problem is the machine is locked in the "Test * L1" mode.

Any other solutions to get this error mode out other than the few I've found on the net that do not appear to be helping me any?

Any help will be appreciated.
