Standalone DivX Player Crash

Hi I have tried playing back AVI video files and if they are bigger than 1gb it comes to a stop half to three quarters play
tried different players and the same,all play OK on PC
HELP!

My own player wont even recognize the file if it's > 2GB.
Never heard of a problem with 1 GB. Usual issues are
resolution too high (> 720&576 pal or 720*480 ntsc)
Or, bitrate is too high.

What is your spec of your file ?

the files are usually about 1.00 to 2.50 gb
it has no trouble recognising the files but all stop about three quarter way thru
about non recognition ..I found that some files have too long a name and were OK once I shortened the title etc
specs are about 720x456 resolution
bitrate varies
All files play OK when converted to DVD format
or are split AVI/Xvid

PS More on Crash
The specs of the last disaster is as follows
720x400
Data btrate 265 kbps
Total btrate 448kbps
frame rate 25fps
........
Audio BRate 448kbps

Perhaps it's having problems reading the media. Have you tried a
different brand ?
How may minutes is this monvie?
Presumably the 448 audio is ac3.

Read your manual for the DVD player and notice the spec's for resolution, codec and bitrate.

Now get yourself a copy of Winavi and the set resolution and bitrate to the above. I find the default settings work good for me. When changing the default resolution, make sure to uncheck use orginal file resolution. I mainly use Winavi because it fast at converting. Anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes depending on the file.

Get in the habit of running the AVI thru Gspot to see what the file is using. Anything outside the player's spec's run them thru Winavi.

hi i have a samsung r130 dvd player and i tried to register the divx code on the computer and now my dvd will only play the divx dvd and nothing else. im in need of help if anyone knows how to get my dvd player back to playing store bought dvds
