I can't believe it but we actually ran out of DLs and the only ones Office Depot had were TDK's (15 pack) in the dark blue wrap. They are 'Made in Taiwan'. Normally we use Verbs but they have been back-ordered and now we're in a crunch. Will these hold up? Can we count on them? Thanks!!!

Some people have no problems with these discs while others do. It's really up to the compatablity between the burner and the disc. I would just wait fot the Verbs.
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

They are probably better than Made in India verbs. MII Verbs are pretty bad- at least the last 2 batches I bought.
On the other hand, Singapore verb DLS are the best in quality. I have burnt many TDK Single layers and they were very good.

I keep hearing that Verbs that are made in India are so bad but we have been burning them since they came out and as of yet (Knock on Wood!) have not had a single bad burn. Guess I better open one of the TDKs and see what happens. I just got off Sams Club website... What's up with them? They are no longer selling Verb DLs and the others? Wonder if the stores still have them?

DVD media myths come and go every couple of years. One of the current myths is that "Indian Verbatim are bad". There is no factual information to back that up, and Verbatim themselves have confirmed the materials and processes used in Taiwan are the same ones used in India. This geographical bias is silly.
On the other hand, Verbatim DVD+R DL is statistically the only media to give reliable results. That stuff made by Ritek/Ricoh and CMC is pitiful, with many users have dead second layers and kick-outs from the burner. It's not the drive/firmware, it's the disc at fault. It's not worth buying.

Whilst i don't use DL media, and i have no idea whether there's such a thing as DL Verbs made in India, i can confirm that MII Single Layer media is excellent, have used obscene amounts over the years with outstanding results.

i just went thru two 25 packs of TDK brand DVD+R DLs without a single coaster. Had gotten them on sale with free shipping from NewEgg real cheap. They're now my favorites, outperforming verbatims. But now they are hard to find at a good price.

i have used the dl tdk's with no coasters.i would recommend these discs.you just have to see if the media will be compatible with your burners.some users have different results with different media, there is no universal accepted by all burners media so you just need to find what works for you.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

MII verbs are moser-baer manufacture.. same as samsung pleomax 16x disks. I have had a lot of fails with these disks.. either during burning or with them failing to be seen by the customers standalone players... (and that's a real hassle for us commercial disk burners.. people bringing back their dodgy disks)
I would rather use cmc printables or riteks for d/l at a push just because verbs are too expensive to justify the use, and the fact that they are not clearly marked for country of origin on bulk boxes of 1k... I'm not too fussed about excellent burns or any scan BS .. I just want the bloody things to work when people get them home at the maximum unit profit to me... MII verbs don't guarantee that so they fail my acid test.

Made in India DL Verbs came just when the DL verbs changed face from the matte purplish disc with Verb logo on right side to the currently whitish disc with centered logo. The new designs first came out about a year ago and they were out of India. Made in India right on the label, this is no myth.
Now it seems even these new logoed discs are coming again from Singapore. If you go on Newegg and sort the reviews for these you will see a time period where all reviews complain about the quailty of the MII discs.
