I have the subtitles in idx for but when using Vobsub resync to convert them to add to the film when converted to DVD from avi I get the OCR learn screen which I've used before but it's is really struggle to discern characters I've made the prog as gap sensitive as possible I've plodded through with some sucess but it's going to take for ever as it's not learning characters but character groups which it is sometimes misreading and incorrectly inserting.
Is there an IDX editor with which I can change the text format to make it more legible to Vobsub?

IDX are usualy PNG-based subtitles; there is no font involved (otherwise, you would not need OCR). You can open the file with SubtitleCreator & change the colors to make it easier to read, then save as a new IDX.
