Help after recording entire disc, it won't bring up the menu or finalize

Hello. I've been using a Magnavox ZC352MW8 recorder for one year. I was recording several chapters just as I've always done. Everything appeared to have recorded fine. Several days later I put the disc in (actually several different discs) to finalize it. Some of the discs wouldn't even bring up the menu page. Others would bring up the menu page but wouldn't allow me to finalize the discs or even play the video. None of the settings on my player have been changed. I've recorded nearly 100 discs in the past with no problems. (I'm putting all of our old home videos on DVD). Any ideas what the problem could be and a solution? Thank you. -Amy
