I just got a new PC, obviously full of new drivers compared to my last build. I don't really want to re-install XP at the moment so I wondered if it was possible to remove all my old drivers, use a programs like Driver Cleaner (Pro), then install my new chipset drivers. So, is this possible without having BSOD's every 20 seconds?

You shouldn't remove the old drivers.

IMHO and experience, what you should do (or should have done before the transplant is set the IDE controller and video driver to generic. That will ensure that the IDE controller and Video card don't hang.

You may have some chipset/processor specific driver that may also need to be removed, but this should get the PC started and then you can overwrite/reinstall the new drivers.

If the hardware change is that substantial, you may need to call Microsoft to re-activate your Windows XP license key.
