How to know if this ps2 game DVD is pal or NTSC?

I have a ps2 game fifa street 2 . But i am not sure if the version of this game that i have is pal or NTSC. I cannot play this game on my console. The screen goes blank after the playstation 2 logo comes on the tv screen. When i load this dvd it comes up on the screen and looks as if the game is going to work but then the screen suddenly goes blank. I have a ntsc console and all the games i am playing is ntsc. But this game - fifa street 2 has no info abt what version it is ? pal or NTSC. So if it is pal at least i can patch it to NTSC?

Is that the original disc or a burned copy? If it's the original, then look on the top side of it. There should be a region (product?) code on it that goes something like this:

SLUS-xxxx

That's the US code. If it's not that (SLES is Europe, S-something is Japan, etc.), then it won't work on your console.

I have backed up dvds. Not the original ones. So i am finding it difficult to judge if it is PAL or NTSC. Since I have a modded console, i try the backed up dvds and if thy work fine i consider it to be NTSC FOR SURE, but in case if they dont work i consider them as PAL for a wild guess. But still i want a sure shot way to find out if the available games are PAL or NTSC so that, if it is pal i can patch it to NTSC and then play it on my console.
thanks guys

SLES = PAL
SLUS = NTSC
Put the disc in your dvd/cd drive on your pc and open in My Computer you will see a file with one of the above codes followed by a series of numbers e.g SLES/SLUS xxx.xx (where the x's will be numbers)
Hope this helps

Hey goth1k, thanks man.......your advice helped me. But there is another problem, now.
I have this FIFA Street 2 PS2 DVD in pal version.
I have a PS2 console NTSC version......when I insert the pal version of the FIFA street 2 into my console, the game would load up only till the play station logo comes up and once the PlayStation logo comes up the screen goes blank. I searched a lot for the FIFA street 2 patches, which can make the pal version of this game play on my NTSC PS2 console, in our own forums and I have seen that there had been patches released for this game back in 2006. But now when I click on those links, all the links are either broken or it comes up with message saying file not found. Hence it seems quite clear that the links and the files uploaded to these links have been deleted.
Now I have ADR Patcher and yfix PAL to NTSC converter (ps2_pal2ntsc_yfix.exe) for ps2. But I am not sure what to do next. Please help me with any suggestion possible. Looking forward for all our help.
Thanks

You'll have to rip an ISO of your disc, run the pal2ntsc patcher and burn it onto another disc. But tbh with you it sounds like a dodgy copy to me as normally a pal game shouldn't crash like that on an ntsc system, it should have the 'scrolling screen' issue AFAIK. But i could be wrong, try the patcher though you never know.
Hope this helps

@ emirer: Your ps2 will play both of those disc types but depending on the quality of your laser unit it may play one type better than the other.
Hope this helps
