I am completely new to the world of DVD recorders ... and looking around via Google I couldn't find the answer to this basic question.

Probably 90% of the stuff I would record on to the hard drive of a DVD recorder, I wouldn't want to save. I'd watch it, and then record over it later.

But 10% of the stuff might be good enough that I'd want to save it forever.

I see there are DVD recorders that have hard drives, but do they have interfaces that permit the organization of shows on to a DVD ? Or is it, choose before recording, to DVD or to hard drive, and no choice later on ?
