Haha, Double Post; There is an edit button at the top; use it =D.
Anyways, I don't think you can get swap disks for free, nevertheless get them online. Again, Swapdisks are supposed to be used legally for backups, not games acquired illegally.
Swapmagic has the PS2 code embedded in it; when we burn games, the code is not burned along with the disk. In this method, does the PS2 acknowledge if the disk itself is legit or backed up (burned, etc.) Therefore, unless you have a modchip, a burned or 'made' swap disk would not work. If you did have a modchip, you wouldn't be using Swapmagic anyways right; unless the game is an import and the modchip can't convert the signal. Exactly the problem I am facing; Enthusia PAL on NTSC PS2.
There are ways, I believe that you can play backups without a modchip/swapdisks. I don't think it requires the originals to be swapped either =D. I believe it is a slidecard. However, how it works, I am not exactly sure. You can do further research on that though.
I can show you a different way of playing backups; but it requires a good PC, and ofc the fact that you have a PS2. In this way, it kinda makes it seem that you are really desperate to play backups, and possibly that you don't have originals (don't take personally; this is a general statement). PCSX2. You have the BIOS of a PS2, so you legally can acquire one in the way you like it. The process of dumping the BIOS, again, I have no idea. I believe that would be a big hassle. Again, emulation takes a lot of processing and graphics power. In general, only a mid to high end PC with adequate graphics power would be able to run the emulation at playable speeds. You find more on the PCSX2 website.
This way, you can do a bit more research.
I wish the best of luck!!

1.) Like Genesis said, you can't burn Swap Magic (or any boot discs, for that matter) and expect the PS2 to recognize it as a PS2 disc. If that were the case, there'd be no need for Swap Magic in the first place.
2.) Swap Magic, Cogswap, and Free McBoot all require you to buy at least one item.
3.) Genesis, a slide card won't work on a slim PS2. It was meant for the old PS2s which actually had a disc tray. The new slim PS2s have that flip top.
I hope that covers most of your basics, leon.

Ehhh... All the methods that I can think of are as posted. I think there was a video on youtube that utilized straws and some other material to 'mod' the PS2 into playing backups. How, and if the video was even legit, I totally forget and don't know. Again, if you really want to know, you ought to go and do the research. If not, then you better just go and play your originals, buy and install a modchip, or even easier go and buy yourself a copy of a swap disk.
One more thing to add; and please don't take it personally, but please do use proper english. It's a pain to read such slang.
Example: there -> dare -> dre...
Dre?? If I had no context, I would have no way of finding out what you were trying to say.
So please try to use proper spelling, and grammar (even if it is the Internet). It's a rule among many forums; afterdawn is probably one of the whole bunch. Even if it isn't, it would help us help you, right?

Oh yeah, I don't understand why you are trying to save money on buying a swap disk, when you've spent ALL THAT MONEY buying the originals. I think it is worth spending a few dollars to preserve the tens, hundreds of dollars (depending on where you live) that you spent on originals. However, what is more fun than to learn a new thing? Soldering in a modchip, I really want to learn; no more chances though, with modern day consoles... Wii? nah, 360?? nah, PS3?? Do I install it on top of the EE? HAHA!!

Je ne parle pas douche. My God, I bet it's harder to write like that than it is to write actual English.
Anyway, you're gonna have to buy SOMETHING, and seeing as how you're so careful with your money, it's obvious that those "OG games" that you "bought" are actually "illegal copies of games" that you "downloaded."
Again, you could try not making it so obvious... Coulda just stuck with "I've got some backup games." Simple, concise, and energy-conservative.
But yeah. You're gonna have to buy SOMETHING, be it a memory card adapter for your PC (to get an exploit or so onto your card), a Swap Magic disc + tools, or a modchip, etc., etc.
The cheapest of all those is probably only gonna cost you $25-30, anyway. If you really did buy all those games of yours, I'm sure you could find in your wallet a few more bucks to get a Swap Magic.

Cheat devices like Action Replay usually have memory card adapters packaged with them that plug into your PC (through a USB port) and allow you to access your memory card with the also-provided software.
They're meant to allow you to create and save specially-made game saves so that when you load the save, you already have all weapons, max life, blah blah blah.
The thing is that the PS2 has a bug in it that lets you launch homebrew applications (like uLaunch, USBAdvance, etc.). What you can do is load a special file onto your PS2 memory card that can trigger this bug and let you do what you want to do.
Hope that helps.

More or less, yeah. The thing you want to do, though, is check to see what kind of modchip you're getting. Do some research online into it and see if it's legit.
Ask the guy you're getting it from what the name of it is and to provide some pictures or so. Then go online and find the actual thing and check the pictures your friend gave you to those that are online. This is to make sure that what you're getting isn't a fake. There are some fake modchips out there that look similar to the real thing, but don't really enhance your PS2 at all (like it'll allow you to play CD-based backups... but the real thing will allow you to play CD and DVD backups, boot programs off a USB drive or a memory card, allow you to compress your saves to a specific format, etc.).

HAHA, Don't worry about it... Just a heads up, as grammar, and CLARITY are the key in asking or answering in a forum, or in any other format for that matter, whether it is asking a teacher, a peer, or a stranger on the street. Furthermore, I hope you have fun with your PS2. Yes, it is old, but it is neverless still a good console. Outdated? I find that thought very personal. In the PS1 days, if you didn't see the DC, the PS1 would still be quite awesome right? If you didn't see the PS3, the PS2 would also be awesome, as it is right now. Outdated? Not necessarily. Could be better? Ofc... The next generation is in your face. Mind me, not next generation; its the NOW GENERATION!!
I'm here to learn... You are here to learn, all of us are; unless we know everything. I highly doubt that. So again, don't worry about it. I've still got a long way to go.
