trying to install this via vt6421a expansion card put card in turn on pc running (vista home premium)but i dont get the pop up for found new hardware when i look in device manager all i can find is via raid card controller 3249 listed under storage controllers any help thanks

Most sata cards identify themselves as raid controlers. Try plugging in a drive...it might already be installed.
