I have a dvd, decrypted and such, that I want to convert to a single file like most rips are. Though there's just one problem. In the beginning of the main vob theres a preview for another movie, now in this preview there is no audio track, so when I try to rip and encode with something like auto gordian knot, it screws up and starts the audio at the beginning of the preview. In AutoGK, I have to open up the ifo file for that vob set, otherwise it wont show the list of audio tracks to choose from. And when I open that ifo, it has me select which video stream I want, of course I want the main movie, the other option would be the preview I previously mentioned. At any rate, it doesnt cut out the preview, which causes the audio and video to be mismatched. What other program(s) can I use to fix this. Other info about the movie is that its in PAL and the default audio track is Spanish.
Try loading the the ripped movie files into DVD Shrink.
Click 'Re-author' and note the list of titles on the right side of the window.
Drag Title 1 (the largest file), from right to left and play it.
Verify that there is extra footage at the beginning.
Click the 'Start/End frames' logo (5) and select the part you want to keep.
Click backup and save to a new folder.
Select that IFO in AGK.
FairUse Wizard has the option to choose the start/end frame when converting to an AVI/mpeg4. Never tried AutoGK, but until the Wizard fails me or will lack some feature that I want to use, it'll be my main converter.
Quote:Used attar's suggestion and it worked, thanks a lot. I'm kinda new to ripping so I never would've thought to do that.
To follow up, did you find that in fact 'Title 1' had the silent clip tacked on to the beginning?
It seemed odd to me that that would be the case.
I would have expected it to be a separate 'Extra'.
Kinda, title 1 was the movie, and title 2 was the preview which was in the extras, but tacked on the beginning of the vob set for the movie. Not sure why they did it that was but AutoGK didn't seem to like it.
